Gino di Dio was born in Naples, Italy and immigrated to NYC, NY at the age of twenty-two.

Di Dio is primarily self-taught but enriched his artistic practice through selective workshops and collaborations with established professional artists.

Throughout his life, Di Dio maintained a dedicated practice in the visual arts with a focus on oil painting.

Recently Di Dio’s artwork has evolved significantly toward woodwork. His current body of work represents a combination of his painting acuteness along with his understanding of wood. This allows Di Dio’s abstract sculptures to explore the connection of natural materials with his artistic expression.
