I have been teaching since the early 1970’s, and teaching continues to be a great joy.   I am currently a Professor Emeritus at Appalachian State University in the department of Applied Design.  I have taught over 40 years, including courses in Ceramics and Design, Construction, Furniture Making Design, Metals, Leather, Technical Illustration and Design in Drawing.

My primary focus now is Ceramics.  I have studied in this field throughout the United States, Japan, Australia, and Tanzania. All my work is high fired, stoneware fired in my 50 cubic foot gas fired kiln. I make functional pottery as well as art pieces in this timeless form of art.
