Bobby Phillips is a retired engineer and computer programmer. Since his retirement his focus has been to become a master wood turner. His turned wood vessels are classically shaped and remarkably thin. Phillips’ choice of woods used in his bowls, vessels and urns is maple, walnut, ebony, locust, and big leaf maple burl to name a few. Much of his art features carving, surface texturing, and inlaid materials such as sterling silver and turquoise.
